Hyatt opens first hotel in Nairobi Westlands

Dar es Salaam. Hyatt Regency yesterday opened the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Kenya’s capital Nairobi as it seeks to boost hospitality industry.
The five-star establishment is located in the Westlands neighbourhood of Nairobi, a key commercial and tourism hub.
The hotel is expected to strengthen Nairobi’s reputation as a top-tier destination for leisure and corporate travel while stimulating economic growth and increasing employment opportunities in the region, the company said in a statement.
The Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands features 219 rooms tailored to meet the growing demand from both business travellers and tourists. Designed as a hub for meetings, events, and luxury accommodation, the hotel integrates local cultural elements with Hyatt’s globally recognised standards.
“This opening is a key milestone in Hyatt’s growth strategy across Africa,” said the Hyatt managing director for the Middle East and Africa, Mr Stephen Ansell.
“We are committed to expanding in high-demand destinations and catering to the needs of the modern traveller. The Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands will serve as an excellent addition to our portfolio, offering both World of Hyatt members and visitors an exceptional experience,” he added
The hotel’s general manager Igor Jovovic highlighted the hotel’s commitment to celebrate Kenyan culture.
“Our design reflects the vibrancy of Kenya’s landscapes, and our culinary offerings showcase the rich flavours of the country. We are proud to deliver an experience that connects guests to Kenya’s unique heritage,” he said.
The hotel’s accommodation options include 147 guestrooms and suites as well as 72 apartments, all equipped with modern amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, smart TVs, and luxury bathroom facilities.
