Insurance company donates five traffic booths to police to improve road safety

Dar es Salaam. In a move to improve road safety, Milembe Insurance on Thursday, July 18, 2024, donated five traffic kiosks to the Police Force at the Oysterbay Police Station in Dar es Salaam.

During the donation handover ceremony, Milembe Insurance Chief Executive Officer Muganyizi Tibaijuka highlighted the company’s commitment to support the government’s efforts to improve road safety.

“We recognize the importance of the Government's continuous efforts to improve road safety. Achieving these goals requires road safety stakeholders to work hand in hand, which is why we are donating these kiosks,” Mr Tibaijuka stated.

He said the partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening road safety measures in Dar es Salaam, demonstrating the vital role that corporate entities play in supporting the government’s initiatives for the welfare of its citizens.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Solomon Mwangamilo, Head of the Road Safety Unit for the Kinondoni Police Region, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Police Force.

“We appreciate receiving these kiosks that will enhance the efficiency of coordinating road safety. We will continue to collaborate closely with corporate entities,” SSP Mwangamilo remarked.

For her part, the Public Relations and Communications Manager of the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA), Ms Anna Massao, praised Milembe Insurance for its proactive approach.

“Insurance is a major stakeholder in road safety, and this collaboration aligns with TIRA’s strategies to promote insurance education and its importance within the community,” she emphasized.
