Dar es Salaam. Young Tanzanians who have completed secondary school and degree holders are invited to apply for job opportunities as Fire and Rescue Constables.
A statement issued on Thursday, February 13, 2025, by the Fire and Rescue Force, announced the recruitment process, outlining the qualifications and criteria required to join the Force.
However, the number of available positions has not been disclosed.
Among the specified qualifications, applicants must be Tanzanian citizens by birth, aged between 18 and 25 years, and meet the following height requirements: at least 5.7 feet for men and 5.4 feet for women.
Additionally, applicants must have good physical and mental health, have never used illegal drugs, must not be married, should not have been previously employed by the government, and must have no criminal record or tattoos.
"They must possess a birth certificate, identification card, or identification number issued by the National Identification Authority (NIDA), and they must be ready to undergo Fire and Rescue training," reads the statement signed by Fire and Rescue Force Commissioner General John Masunga.
"Young people with a secondary school education or higher who have skills in driving heavy vehicles, plumbing, nursing, Fire and Rescue professions, medicine, and helicopter piloting are required to ensure they meet the qualifications outlined above," reads another part.
The statement also specifies that applicants with helicopter piloting qualifications must be aged between 18 and 35, while drivers must hold a Class E licence and be between the ages of 18 and 28.
Those with degrees in fields such as marine engineering, aviation, languages (English), construction estimation, information technology, economics, law (attended training at the Law School for practical training), teaching, road and rail transportation, and chemical engineering must also meet the general qualifications. The age range for these applicants is between 18 and 28.

The statement urges applicants to include a handwritten application letter, a copy of their birth certificate, a health clearance form from a government health facility, a copy of their National Identification (ID) or NIDA number, a recent passport-sized photo, and Form Four examination number.
