Journalists to bid farewell to late Sagati

Dar es Salaam. Journalists and city residents will today pay their last respects to former journalist of Tanzania Standard Newspapers (TSN) Shadrack Sagati.
Mr Sagati, who until his death was a senior public relations officer for the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, died on Tuesday in Geita Region following a car accident at Mintoko Village.
Family spokesman Masau Bwire said the body was transported to the city yesterday from Geita. Then the body will be taken to his city home before being transported to Bunda District, Mara Region on Friday for burial.
The events are being coordinated by journalists, TSN, Tanzania Association of Government Communication Officers and his employer. “He’ll be laid to rest on Sunday at Mwiliruruma Village in Bunda District,” said Mr Bwire.
He said the convoy escorting the body will stop in Dodoma to give a chance to ministry workers to pay their last respects to Sagati.
The others who were involved in the accident were deputy permanent secretary Ludovick Nduhiye and three ministry officials namely Mr Nickson Matembo, Mr Lucas Wambura and Mr Yusuf Mbwalwa and the driver.
Mr Sagati joined TSN in 2006, after having worked for Mwananchi Communications Limited.
