Karibu Music Festival is back again

Last year's festival featured over 30 music groups from over 9 countries around the world performing live on stage.

The festival that will take place from 6th-8th of November in Bagamoyo at Mwanakalenge grounds near the College of Arts and Culture (TASUBA) aims at nurturing and promoting African music and culture to the world.
A total of about 15000-24000 people are expected to show up for the second edition of the Karibu Music Festival orgnised by the Karibu Cultural Promotions Organization (KCPO) and Legendary Music Entertainment and Promotions Co. Ltd.
The festival that will take place from 6th-8th of November in Bagamoyo at Mwanakalenge grounds near the College of Arts and Culture (TASUBA) aims at nurturing and promoting African music and culture to the world.
Speaking to reporters recently at the Maelezo auditorium the Karibu Music Festival representative Ernest Biseko says that, the festival draws together businesses, small and medium entreprenuers (SME’s), the international community, youth, community organisations and the Tanzanian people on an annual basis to celebrate its richness and diversity.
“The festival's vision is to create a unique East African festival that not only entertains but also contributes to the long term development of the economy and community where it is held,” says Biseko.
Adding to that he says, the festival includes live music performances from all over Africa and beyond including the legendary Papa Wemba, culture and arts exhibition, festival parade, showcasing the richness and diversity of Tanzania, family fun as well as workshops to include management and branding, copywrite society, traditional dances, drumming etc.
Other musicians from outside Tanzania are Sarabi Band, H-Art The Band, Yuzzo & Frontline Band. Artists from Tanzania are Jhiko Manyika (Jhikoman) and his Afrikabisa band, Tomgwa Ensembe, Misoji Nkwambi BSS 2008 winner, Ze Spirit band, Isha Mashauzi, Damian Soul and his band, Juma Nature, Msafiri Zawose and the band.
