Millennium Tower will not fall: TANROADS

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) has today denied rumours that it is planning to bring down the popular  Millennium Tower building at Kijitonyama. 

Tanroad's Dar es Salaam regional manager Julius Ndyemukama has told The Citizen: 

“The building is not within road reserve and it will never be. And we don’t have any directives from the top to demolish the building,”

Speculations had it that the ongoing operation to demolition structures on road reserves and open spaces may affect the 8-storey tower accommodating shops, restaurants, offices and several banks.

The demolition exercise which is conducted in Kinondoni district has so far seen some posh houses pulled down.

The management of the building declined to comment on the reports.

“I am not aware of the plans, I did not come across over such reports, I ask you to contact responsible authorities over the issue,” he said.
