Dar es Salaam. About 120 patients with bodily disorders are expected to receive free clinic and consultation services at the Muhimbili Orthopedic Institute (Moi) on Friday, October 26, thanks to a partnership from a foreign hospital.

Briefing reporters, Moi managing director Respicious Boniface said the institute has collaborated with medics from Zydus Hospital based in India.

"We’re implementing President John Magufuli’s vision of ensuring that expert services is made available in the country and reduce sending patients abroad for treatment,” he said.

According to him MOI has entered into a three-year renewable contract with Zydus Hospital under which the two institutions will exchange experts for training and gaining experience.

He said,  "Six months ago we signed an agreement with Zydus to undertake sharing of experts.”

For his part, the representative of Zydus Hospital, Mr Himanshu Sharma, said this was a great opportunity working with MOI for the benefits of the people.
