Mr Mtei’s remark is yet another in a series of veiled criticisms by a section of people over the way the Head of State is carrying out his war on impunity.
He warned that there was a danger of some innocent public servants being victimised by these decisions, he said, were mostly taken in haste “without thorough investigations being carried out first.” “These people have the right to be heard. They should not be sent home on mere suspicions”, he told this newspaper.
Early this year, during his consecration in Moshi as the new Head of the Lutheran Church, Bishop Fredrick Onael Shoo warned that he was afraid the crackdown against so-called corrupt suspects was being done haphazardly at times without sufficient evidence against the culprits.
