Mwabukusi wins appeal, now to run for TLS presidency

Dar es Salaam. The High Court has reversed the ruling of the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) Appeals Committee, which had previously disqualified Boniphace Mwabukusi from the law society’s presidential race.

This decision, delivered today, July 26, 2024, by Judge Butamo Phillip, determines Mwabukusi's fate in the race.

Mwabukusi, a high profile lawyer in the country, was one of the members who applied and was approved by the Election Committee to run for the TLS presidency, but he was disqualified by the Ethics Committee.

The TLS election is expected to take place on August 2, 2024, in Dodoma.
