President Samia allocates monthly day to personally hear citizens’ concerns

  • As the Head of State and the national chairperson of the ruling party, Samia aims to engage directly with citizens by listening to their concerns and providing solutions.

CCM’s Ideology and Publicity Secretary, Paul Makonda, has announced that President Samia Suluhu Hassan has allocated one day each month to personally listen to citizens’ concerns at the offices of the party in Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, and Zanzibar, depending on where the head of state will be at a particular time.

As the Head of State and the national chairperson of the ruling party, Samia aims to engage directly with citizens by listening to their concerns and providing solutions.

Speaking at the press conference in Dar es Salaam, Mr Makonda explained that these meetings will provide citizens with the opportunity to share their challenges directly with the President.

“This is a rare and unique opportunity for citizens to engage with their leader; any citizen who comes to present their grievance to the President will be required to have information that their issue has not been addressed by the lower level of authority,” ” Mr Makonda said.

Regarding when the initiative will begin, Mr Makonda said the procedure will be arranged, and the citizens will be informed.

According to him, President Hassan’s decision was inspired by the practice of the former President, Late Ali Hassan Mwinyi, who, during his tenure as both President and CCM chairperson, regularly set aside one day each month to meet with citizens at the party's Lumumba sub-office in Dar es Salaam.
