President Samia names Dr Nchimbi as running mate for October 2025 elections

Dar es Salaam. The Chairperson of the Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party and presidential candidate, Samia Suluhu Hassan, has nominated the party's Secretary-General, Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, as her running mate for the upcoming elections scheduled for October 2025.
Dr Nchimbi was appointed as CCM’s Secretary-General on January 15, 2024, during a Central Committee meeting held in Unguja, Zanzibar. He succeeded Daniel Chongolo, who resigned on November 29, 2023.
President Samia announced her nomination of Dr Nchimbi today, Sunday, January 19, 2025, during a special general meeting held in Dodoma.
