Zanzibar. President Samia Suluhu Hassan is set to inaugurate the 11th Tanzania Health Summit (THS), themed "Igniting Progress: Joining Efforts for Quality Healthcare through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)."

The three-day event will attract over 1,500 local and international delegates, focusing on enhancing healthcare quality through PPPs.

The summit will feature 40+ health forums led by various institutions, 280 research presentations showcasing scientific developments, and 60+ exhibitors displaying cutting-edge healthcare solutions and products.

A Public Health Specialist and Health Economist at the Ministry of Health, Dr Anzibert Rugakingira, emphasized the importance of leveraging the summit to evaluate the successes and challenges of PPPs in addressing public health issues like Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

He called for streamlining procedures and building public sector capacity to manage PPPs effectively.

THS President Dr Omary Chillo stressed the summit’s role in bridging the gap between academia and industry to foster research-driven healthcare development.

“The 11th THS brings together the entire healthcare ecosystem—scientists, policymakers, private sector, and civil society—bridging financing and expertise gaps for a healthier Africa,” he said.

The event will also offer workshops, capacity-building programs, and social activities, providing delegates with professional growth and networking opportunities.

Key guests include Dr. Jean Kasseya, Director General of Africa CDC, and Dr Faustine Ndugulile, WHO AFRO Regional Director-Elect.
