Ruaha Catholic University honours Maria and Consolata

Dar es Salaam. The Ruaha Catholic University (RUCU) has said it will construct a modern centre for people with disabilities as remembrance of the deceased conjoined twins, Maria and Consolata.
The University’s vice chancellor Prof Furgence Mbunda said this when he was addressing mourners during a televised requiem mass that took place at the Rucu premises where mourners had opportunity to pay last respects to the conjoined twins.
He said that the facility will be named after the deceased conjoined twins’ names ‘Maria and Consolata’.
The twins were first year students at the university studying Education degree progamme.
“The university will construct a special centre to cater services for disabled people in acknowledgement of the deceased conjoined twins’ kindness,” he said.
Prof further revealed that the university had registered at least 40 students living with disability studying various degree and diploma programmes.
Prof Mbunda also described the deceased conjoined twins as ‘courageous’, citing that he was saddened by the conjoined twins’ demise.
Maria and Consolata died on Saturday, June 2 this year, and will be laid to rest later on Wednesday June 6 at the Tosamaganga cemetery in Iringa district.
