Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL), has introduced a new international premium beer “Rockshore” from the House of Guinness for the expressive and lifestyle consumers.

Rockshore, a beer of international standards and locally produced, comes to the market as a response to the evolving tastes of Tanzania beer consumers looking for exclusive and premium taste.

The beer has natural fruit flavours of vibrant pineapple and zingy passionfruit with an Alcohol by Volume (ABV) of 4.2 percent.

SBL’s Head of Innovations, Bertha Vedastus, during the trade launch, said they have been seeing a growing middle-class society across different age segments who seek options out of the norm, freedom and expression beyond the rulebook.

“SBL is responding to these consumers by introducing Rockshore; a beer that allows them to be unapologetically expressive and gives you power to play by our own rules and just be free,” she said

Speaking at the launch, the Marketing and Innovations Director Anitha Msangi Rwehumbiza said “We continue to listen to our consumer evolving needs and respond accordingly with different products that answers to those needs. Rockshore is an innovative addition to our beer brands”

She also highlighted that Rockshore is from the House of Guinness in Ireland, despite being an international product SBL is able to brew it in Tanzania with the master brewers meeting all international standards.

This, she said will further add to the value chain as farmers will have a  market for their produce to serve the manufacture of this new innovative refreshing drink.

The launch of Rockshore comes on a backdrop of the Serengeti Breweries’ plant expansion in Moshi which will drive more volumes to meet the market demand.

"SBL has injected nearly Sh166 billion into expanding brewing facilities in three plants across the nation (Mwanza, Moshi, and Dar) to capacitate our company to produce imported drinks locally such as Rockshore and Captain Morgan Gold, which adds value across the supply chain". Anitha Msangi Rwehumbiza added.

Stakeholders across the chain, received the introduction of the new product with joy. Nancy Sumari, Miss Tanzania (2005) and also a special guest during the launch said that, “ I am thrilled that Rockshore is now produced here in Tanzania. It is a good thing because it adds value across the chain, as now young people can get jobs, farmers can sell recipes for brewing and benefit other stakeholders involved in distributing this fine product to the end consumer”.

The Rockshore beer brand comes inspired by the rugged refreshing experience of the West Coast of Ireland, giving an exotic touch to our premium class. It will be available across the country with a recommended retail price of Sh2,500.
