Seven killed, 15 injured in Mafinga ambulance crash

Mafinga. Seven people have died and 15 others were injured following a collision between an ambulance and a three-wheeled motorcycle, commonly known as a toyo.

The tragic accident occurred on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Luganga area within Mafinga Town Council, Mufindi District, Iringa Region.

Confirming the incident after visiting survivors, Mufindi District Commissioner, Dr Linda Salekwa said preliminary reports indicate that the victims were on their way to the farm when the crash occurred.

“The ambulance collided with a three-wheeled motorcycle, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries,” she said, adding that further investigations were underway to establish the cause of the accident.
