Stanbic Bank commits to fostering local talent with latest graduation of trainees
Dar es Salaam. Stanbic Bank Tanzania has announced the graduation of its latest cohort from the graduate trainee programme, a hallmark initiative aimed at nurturing and developing the next generation of leaders within the banking sector.
The transformative programme underscores Stanbic Bank's commitment to fostering local talent and driving innovation in the financial industry.
Since its inception, the Stanbic Bank Tanzania Graduate Trainee Programme has been instrumental in strengthening the bank's internal talent pipeline. With a 93 percent retention rate, the programme has demonstrated its effectiveness in selecting and nurturing top talent.
Graduates from previous cohorts, such as Mise Chikoma, now a Client Insights Manager, and Natasha Mbaga, a Relationship Manager at Stanbic Bank Uganda, exemplify the programme's success in building a strong leadership bench.
Rabina Masanja, Head of People and Culture at Stanbic Bank Tanzania, emphasized the programme's impact, stating, "We take immense pride in the achievements of our previous cohorts. Their success stories are a testament to the programme’s efficacy and our commitment to developing top-tier talent."
Manzi Rwegasira, CEO of Stanbic Bank Tanzania, expressed his enthusiasm for the new direction of the programme, saying, "As we celebrate the graduation of this exceptional group, we also look forward to the implementation of a new 12-month model for future cohorts. This shift is designed to provide our trainees with enhanced expertise and quicker integration into substantive roles. We believe that this focused approach will not only benefit our graduates but also bring substantial value to the bank."
These graduates have gained hands-on experience across various departments, preparing them for substantive roles within the bank. The graduation event celebrated the accomplishments of the current cohort, who have demonstrated resilience, innovation, and a commitment to excellence over the past 18 months. During his address, Rwegasira encouraged the graduates, stating, "As you step into your new roles, I urge you to embrace innovation and continuous learning.
