Dar es Salaam. In a bid to enhance digital technologies in the education sector, Exim Bank has introduced 'Exim Smart Shule' platform dubbed ‘Shule Kidijitali’, a payment solution facilitating direct school fee payments by parents, guardians, or students.
Utilizing a system-generated control number, payments can be made conveniently through Exim Bank branches, Exim Wakala, and mobile phone networks.
This initiative aims to streamline fee payment processes, promoting efficiency and accessibility in school fee transactions.
“This platform, ‘Exim Smart Shule’, demonstrates our commitment to being innovative in promoting digital financial inclusion and staying connected to our customers. A parent or guardian will just request for a special control number from the school to easily and securely make payments,” says Eugen Massawe, Group Head – Branch Operations at Exim Bank.
Exim Smart Shule platform presents several solutions for the educational institutions, students, parents and guardians for seamlessly integrating technology and financial services in the education sector.
The platform will streamline the fee payment process, making it faster and more efficient for both parents and the school administration.
Ramadhan Mbaga, senior manager – Digital Channels Products Design & Support, says, “With Exim Smart Shule, parents and students can conveniently make payments using various channels such as our Exim bank branches, Exim Wakala, and Mobile Networks providing flexibility and convenience in the payment process.”
Using this platform also provides accuracy because each control number is unique to a specific student and payment transaction. This helps to ensure that payments are correctly attributed to the corresponding student's account, reducing the likelihood of payment discrepancies or misallocations.
The use of Exim Smart Shule platform enhances transparency in the fee payment process. Parents receive a unique identifier for their payment transaction, allowing them to track the status of their payment and verify that it has been successfully processed.
The ‘Exim Smart Shule’ platform simplifies fee payments for parents, guardians, or students by offering multiple channels, including our branch network, mobile phone networks, and Exim Wakala points across the country. This flexibility allows them to initiate payments conveniently without the necessity of visiting the school.
Financially, this system is secure in terms of adding an extra layer of security to fee payments by serving as unique identifiers for each transaction made. This helps prevent unauthorized access to parent accounts and mitigates the risk of fraudulent activities.
Through Smart Shule, parents and guardians will have access to student performance reports, the school's annual calendar, and a tracking system for student transportation. Additionally, students will benefit from a library filled with learning materials designed to enhance their academic performance.
“Through this platform, Exim bank helps the onboarded schools to reconcile with parents on the payments made by corresponding control numbers with their accounts. This reduces the administrative burden on school staff and ensures accurate record-keeping.” Elizabeth Mayengoh, Zonal Manager at Exim Bank.
'Exim Smart Shule' solution marks a significant step towards digitizing school fee payments, offering convenience, efficiency, and security for parents, guardians, students, and educational institutions.
This innovative platform reflects Exim Bank's commitment to digital financial inclusion and streamlining processes in the education sector. A further testimony to Exim Bank’s slogan: Innovation is life
