Speaking on Thursday, 26 June, in Dodoma, the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr Pindi Chana, said the event underscores the elevated status Tanzania has earned on the global tourism stage.
Dr Chana noted that Tanzania’s nominations span across key categories, including Africa’s Leading Tourist Destination, Leading Tourist Attraction, Leading Tourism Board, Leading National Park, Leading Safari Hotel, and Leading Safari Company.
She attributed the country’s strong presence at the awards to President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s efforts to promote the sector, particularly through internationally acclaimed productions such as The Royal Tour and Amazing Tanzania.
According to Dr Chana, more than 250 participants from various countries have confirmed attendance at the gala, including prominent players in the tourism sector, investors, international journalists, and service providers from across Africa and the Indian Ocean islands.
