Dar es Salaam. The Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI), in collaboration with the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (Tantrade), has organised an international manufacturing exhibition.

The Tanzania International Manufacturers Expo (TIMEXPO 2024), set to take place from September 26 to October 2, 2024, is anticipated to showcase over 500 manufacturers from both local and international markets.

Hosted at the Sabasaba grounds in Dar es Salaam, the exhibition’s theme is Building Bridges: Connecting Local and Foreign Manufacturers.

CTI's executive director, Leodegar Tenga, told journalists on September 2 that the exhibition aims to foster partnerships between local and foreign companies while facilitating the exchange of technological expertise.

“TIMEXPO 2024 seeks to showcase advancements across various sectors, particularly within the manufacturing industry,” he said.

Tenga said that the participation of over 200 international exhibitors underscores the growing interest in Tanzania’s market and the opportunities it presents.

“International participants will bring their expertise and innovative products, allowing Tanzanian industries to access new technologies and forge strategic relationships,” he added.

He said that local exhibitors are set to display the strength and diversity of Tanzania’s industrial sector, covering a range from small to large-scale industries.

Tantrade's acting director of Trade Promotion, Tito Nombo, noted that the exhibition offers a valuable opportunity for participants to assess the progress of the manufacturing sector.

He emphasised the collaborative effort to identify challenges and devise solutions for enhancing the sector’s development.

“This event will feature various sectors, including construction materials, manufacturing equipment, agricultural processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and more,” he said.
