Techforward Tanzania, C-Sema ink partnership deal to promote child online safety, digital literacy

Dar es Salaam. A digital literacy and innovation organization, Techforward Tanzania and a child protection body C-Sema Tanzania have signed a strategic partnership deal that will see them working together in promoting child online safety and digital literacy across the country.

The Techforward’s Executive Director, Elias Patrick, and C-Sema’s CEO, Kiiya Joel signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their two organisations.

The deal will empower communities with vital technological skills.

“This partnership addresses a critical challenge—ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the digital world,” said Patrick. “We will work together to equip youth with skills for a successful future while ensuring a safe online environment.”

Kiiya Joel shared similar sentiment, stressing the importance of protecting children from the risks of the online world. "Through this collaboration, we will amplify efforts to protect children and help them utilize technology for learning and growth," he said.

The partnership will roll out awareness campaigns on safe online practices, develop educational programs to enhance digital literacy among children, and advocate for policies that prioritize child safety online.

Both organizations bring complementary strengths: Techforward’s expertise in digital education and tech solutions combined with C-Sema’s experience in child advocacy and protection aims to create lasting positive impacts on Tanzanian children and their communities.
