Traders doubt govt's promise of a central market

                Morogoro. Traders at the Central Market refuse to shift to new markets in Manzese and Nanenane due to insecurity and poor infrastructure in the area.

The traders  have been relocated to the new market to pave way for the rehabilitation of the Central Market next year.

However, the traders expressed pessimism over the government’s ability to rehabilitate the market within a year.

“We have signed a legal binding contract with the municipal council to shift to other markets for a period of one year but we are not sure if the government will honour its pledge,” said Mr Abdallah Rajabu, the chairman of the traders association.
