Speaking to The Citizen, head of Nyarugusu refugees camp Mr Sospeter Boyo said the move is part of a United Nation High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) initiative.
More than 33,000 refugees from Nyarugusu camp will be transferred to other countries in America and Europe to ease congestion at the camp.

Mr Boyo said a total of 1,500 refugees from Nyarugusu camp have already been scrutinised with regard to the proposal transfer.
A total of 17,445 refugees who fled political crisis in Burundi and DRC from the camp have already been relocated to Canada, Sweden, USA, Australia, Norway, England, Denmark and France, according to Boyo.
Nyarugusu refugee camp, which has a capacity to accommodate 50,000 refugees, has been overwhelmed by more than 151,032 refugees.
