Dodoma. The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) has signed an agreement with Van Mo aimed at equipping young people with job-ready skills and expanding employment opportunities.
The agreement, signed in Dodoma on Friday, September 4, 2026, seeks to align vocational training with skills demanded by employers while creating opportunities for practical workplace training.
VETA Director General, Mr Anthony Kasore said closer collaboration with industry was essential to ensure training programmes responded to changing labour-market needs.
“We will ensure that when Van Mo needs professionals with different skills, VETA can help provide them,” Kasore said.
The agreement covers heavy-vehicle driving and fleet management, transport and logistics, vehicle inspection and repair, automotive electrical and electronic systems, warehouse operations, fuel-station management, construction, property and infrastructure management, tourism and hospitality, and agriculture.
Van Mo General Manager Fathi Ahmed Ally said the company planned to employ about 500 skilled young people who had graduated from VETA institutions.
He said the company required technically trained workers, particularly for its transport operations.
“What attracted us to VETA is that its graduates have the skills we need, especially in transportation,” Ally said.
The partnership is expected to help bridge the gap between vocational training and industry demand by combining classroom instruction with workplace experience and creating clearer pathways from training to employment.
VETA said it would continue working with employers and industrial operators to identify skills gaps and employment opportunities for its graduates.
