Dar es Salaam. CUF Secretary General Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad said on Wednesday that he would not step down from his position unless the party members and wananchi tell him to do so.

Mr Hamad explained that it is the people who compel him not to retire. “They have asked me not to leave. If I do so, it will be a form of betrayal.
"I have worked with diligence throughout my years of service and I promised them that I will continue serving them whether or not I’m in the government,” he added.
