Stephen Wasira elected as CCM's vice chairperson for Tanzania Mainland

Dodoma. Veteran politician Stephen Wasira, who has held numerous positions in the Government and the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party, has been appointed as the party's Vice Chairman (Mainland).

Wasira's name was presented at the ongoing CCM National Conference in Dodoma today, 18 January 2025, having received the endorsement of both the Central Committee and the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party to fill the position left vacant by Abdulrahman Kinana, who announced his retirement five months ago.

Wasira's nomination will now proceed to a vote by the delegates of the CCM National Conference.
