120 golfers to compete in Corporate Masters event

Dar es Salaam. Over 120 golfers are expected to compete in the eagerly-awaited Corporate Masters Golf Series 2024, scheduled to tee off on August 2 to 3 at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) golf course.

Among the golfers is last year's winner, Arjun Lavingia, who aims to defend his title.

Other notable competitors include Kunal Lakhani, Claudio Kisanko, Joyce Ndyetabura, and Ayne Magombe.

The event will also feature golfers from six countries: Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The tournament's organiser, Kelly Simon, stated that preparations for the Stableford 18-hole event are progressing well. The deadline for golfers to confirm participation is this Sunday.

"The golfers are now in intensive training, and we expect an exciting tournament. I encourage timely registration as it is crucial for ensuring that all logistical arrangements are handled as planned,” said Simon.

 The event has been sponsored by Kenya Airways, Hyatt Hotel, Automark, Eco Bank, Flashnet, Cfao, CMC, Heritage Insurance, Max Insurance, Metl, CRDB Bank, and Kago.

Simon stressed the importance of timely registration, encouraging institutions and corporations to promote the game and use the platform for commercial links to drive the country's economy through sports.

 "This is the fifth time the championship is being held," Simon noted, adding, "It has made significant contributions by bringing together businessmen to play, share experiences, forge friendships, and promote local golf talent.” 

He also highlighted the lucrative prizes for the winners, including a car for the golfer who achieves a hole-in-one.

Additionally, there will be awards for the longest drive for both male and female golfers.

The Corporate Masters Golf Series 2024 is set to be one of the most competitive and engaging tournaments of the year, with participants from various backgrounds and countries.

The organizers have ensured that the event will run smoothly, with all necessary preparations in place.

The golfers are currently undergoing intensive training to ensure they are in top form for the competition.

He reiterated that the tournament stands to be an excellent opportunity for businesses to connect, collaborate, and foster economic growth.
