Kaseke to the rescue as Yanga avoid defeat

Tanga. A second half strike by Deus Kaseke salvaged a 1-1 draw for Young Africans against 10-man Coastal Union in a bruising Mainland Premier League match here yesterday.
Kaseke came off the bench equalise for the Jangwani Street giants in the 76th minute, six minutes after coming in to replace team captain Ibrahim Ajib.
He connected home a Matheo Antony pass to rescue the visitors from the jaws of defeat at the Mwakwani Stadium.
Coastal Union had gone one up in the 30th minute through former Simba SC striker Hijja Ugando off a neat cross from Andrew Sinchimba.
Ugando beat goalkeeper Ramadhan Kabwili with a diving header, which left the goalie flat footed.
The hard-earned draw means Yanga remain unruffled at the pilot’s seat of the top flight with 54 points from 21 games.
Coastal Union, on the other hand, now sit eighth in the 20-team league with 29 points from 22 matches.
The well-attended match started at a cracking pace with teams pressing up front in turn in search of the match-opener.
Yanga fluffed two chances early in the first half the culprits being Herieter Makambo and Matheo Anthony.
The hosts suffered a blow in the 74th minute when Issa Abushehe was given marching orders by referee Hassan Mwinchumu from Coast Region for a foul on Gadiel Michael.
