Kilimanjaro Marathon announces sponsors for 5km fun run

organisers of 22nd edition of the Kilimanjaro Marathon 2024 have announced Gee Soseji as the new sponsor for the 5km Fun Run ahead of the February 25, 2024 event.

A statement issued by the organizers in Dar es Salaam, said they were delighted and welcomed Gee Soseji on board adding that the race will now be known as the Gee Soseji 5km Fun Run.

“The 5km Fun Run is a big race that attracts 5000runners hence Gee Soseji is set to get good mileage and exposure out of this new sponsorship and we look forward to a long term relationship that will take this race to another level,” read the Kilimanjaro Marathon statement in part.

The organizers also called on other would be sponsors to come on board and explore other sponsorship opportunities within the event, especially the water tables.

The Gee Soseji Managing Director, Mr. David Minja said they are proud to be associated with the Kilimanjaro International Marathon, one of the biggest sporting events in the region.

“To us, this is the right platform to promote our products, engage with consumers in a fun way and to educate people on the benefits of eating healthy and how to live a balanced lifestyle,” said Mr. Minja.

He said the Gee Soseji promo teams will be stationed in Moshi at least a week before the Marathon  and engage consumers at different places such as bars and other places and making sure they experience the true taste of Gee Sausages and sharing nutritional benefits.

“We also intend to use the sponsorship to launch Gee Sausages and to ensure  availability in Moshi, Arusha, Mbeya, Mwanza and eventually all over Tanzania and worldwide,” he said.

He called on the 5km Fun Run participants to register in numbers as they now have something more to look forward to at the ground before, during and after the races.  “We will be sending a bus-load of staff, clients and merry makers to participate and have fun at the same time,” he added.

Other sponsors include the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager (main sponsor) and Tigo -21km KiliHalf Marathon, the water table sponsors Simba Cement, Kilimanjaro Water and TPC Sugar.
