Professional boxers to trade punches at Dar Boxing Derby event

Dar es Salaam. Some professional boxers in the country are expected to feature in the Dar Boxing Derby event scheduled to take place this Saturday at Kijitonyama’s Posta Grounds in Dar es Salaam.

The event has been organized by Beatpersecond Sports Promotions under promoter Bakari Khatibu and Peak Time Promotions under renowned promoter Selemani Semunyu.

Speaking to The Citizen yesterday, Semunyu confirmed that most of the famous professional boxers in the country are involved in the event sanctioned by the Tanzania Professional Boxing Regulatory Commission.

Semunyu announced that emerging boxer Haidari Mchanjo will face Charles Tondo in the eight round Super Featherweight bout while Loren Japhet will exchange blows with Issa Nampepeche in another eight round Super Featherweight fight.

Also, on the list are Saidi Mkola and Saidi Bwanga, who will face each in the eight round Super Featherweight bout before Tony Rashid and Oscar Duge stepping into the ring for their eight-round Featherweight bout.

Another anticipated bout will pit Nassibu Ramadhani and Juma Choki in their eight-round Super Featherweight bout.

The night of fights, sponsored by Azam TV, Tosh Cargo, Smart Gin, Robby One Pharmacy, and Kuambiana Investment, will also see Peter Damian fighting Rajabu Chande in the six-round lightweight bout, while Shadir Hija and Ibada Jafari trading punches in the six round super flyweight bout.

Boxer Fred Josia will face his opponent, Barnaba Kihamba, in their four-round Super Flyweight bout, Gabriel Chola against Frank Nampumula in their eight-round lightweight bout, and Anuary Mlawa will take on Ramadhani Migwede in the eight-round super lightweight fight.

Also on the card are Ramadhan Idd and Adam Ngange  who will face each other in their super lightweight bout scheduled for eight rounds, while Kassim Hamad and Gabriel Moris will compete fight each other in their eight-round super featherweight bout.

There will also be women's bouts during this highly anticipated night of professional boxing. Notable boxers Dajma Isike and Nasra Msami will face off in their six-round Lightweight bout, and Debora Mwenda will fight her opponent to be named later in the Super Bantamweight bout.

“We are now in the final stages of preparations for the event. All boxers are in good shape and ready to show their prowess in the game of boxing. We call upon all professional boxing stakeholders to attend the fights,” said Semunyu.
