Shocking results for Azam, Yanga as Phiri faces exit

Dar es Salaam. After a series of poor performances, newly promoted team, Ndanda Football Club has shocked the league defending champions, Azam FC following 1-0 victory at Nangwanda Sijaona Stadium in Mtwara Region.
This is the second win for the Mtwara based team. The team won 4-1 against Stand United during the opening match at Kambarage Stadium on September 21. However; the team failed to shine in the four matches and led the team leadership to terminate the head coach Dennis Kitambi.
Ndanda scored their goal through Jacob Masawe following a nice move from former Young Africans midfielder Rehani Kibingu in the first half. The victory was positively received by the team fans and members who enjoyed it for the first time at the home ground.
“I’m very happy with the victory. My players played well and missed many chances in the first half. Azam FC is good team, but we managed to overshadow them in midfield and my defenders did not give chance ice cream makers strikers,” said Ngawina Ngawina who is the team assistant coach.

At Morogoro’s Jamhuri Stadium, Simba Sports Club recorded the sixth draw in the league with 1-1 score against Mtibwa Sugar. The results means the team technical bench under Zambian technician, Patrick Phiri is facing exit due to two-match win ultimatum given by the club leadership.
Simba SC was the first to score in the 34th through Joseph Owino who utilized a good pass from Emmanuel Okwi. Mtibwa Sugar equalized in the 58th through Mussa “Mgosi” Hassan who used defensive blunders to score and cause sad moment for the Msimbazi Street side.
