Simba Queens’ Opah named in CAF Best XI

Simba Queens captain Opah Clement has been named in the Africa’s Women XI after a steller performance that saw her score two goals at the just concluded CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected five players from Morocco’s AS FAR for the Best XI list of the 2022 Women’s Champions League.

Opah who led the lines for lionesses in the five outings at their debut season at the CAF Women’s Champions’ League group stages was named in a line-up that was dominated by champions AS FAR and Mamelodi Sundowns who finished the tournaments as runners-up who had three.

The selection include goalkeeper Khadija Er-Rmichi, “formidable” midfielder Siham Boukhami, forward Fatima Tagnaout, and wingback duo Ghizlane Chhiri, Nouhaila Benzina, Aziza Rabah and forward Ibtissam Jraidi.

Simba in their debut season were the surprise package after they progressed into the semi-finals recording two clean sheets after losing their opening game to the eventual champions AS FAR.

The forth place finish will see the Tanzanian lionesses pocket some Sh460 million for their effort of progressing beyond the group stage
