Simba SC sign Ugandan striker

Dar es Salaam.  Simba Sports Club have signed their new striker from Asante Kotoko of Ghana, Ugandan Steven Mukwala, for a three-year contract.

This is Simba's third signing for the upcoming 2024/25 season after unveiling winger Joshua Mutale from Power Dynamos of Zambia and Lameck Lawi from Coastal Union.

However, Lawi’s introduction sparked a controversy, with Coastal Union management claiming that the defender has not yet been sold.

While at Kotoko, Mukwala scored 14 goals and set up two assists in the 28 matches he played during the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Mukwala joins Fredy Michael and Pa Omar Jobe in the team's striking force.

Also on the list of Simba’s new players is right winger Elie Mpanzu from AS Vita of DR Congo.

Mpanzu has no contract with AS Vita, and the club's attempt to renew his contract has faced significant obstacles as the player wants to leave.

Another player in the team is Burkinabe Valentino Nouma from Lupopo. Simba are also expected to announce their new technical bench that will include Davids Fadlu and Steven Kompela, both from South Africa.

The Reds of Msimbazi, as they are popularly known, are scheduled for pre-season camp in Ismailia, Egypt, ahead of the upcoming Tanzania Mainland Premier League season.

Apart from competing in the top flight and the CRDB Federation Cup, Simba will also represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
