Dar es Salaam. Young Africans (Yanga) fans rejoice over Mamelodi Sundowns' elimination from CAF Champions League, attributing it to their subpar performance against Esperance of Tunisia.

Esperance secured their spot in the CAF Champions League final with a 2-0 aggregate victory, setting up a showdown with defending champions Al Ahly of Egypt, who defeated TP Mazembe of DR Congo 3-0.

The jubilation among Yanga fans stems from their disheartening quarter-final loss to Mamelodi Sundowns, where a legitimate goal by Stephane Aziz Ki was controversially disallowed, leading to their elimination on penalties.

Many fans feel vindicated by Mamelodi Sundowns' defeat to Esperance, believing that justice has been served.

Hassan Mussa, a resident of Mbezi Beach in Dar es Salaam, expressed disappointment with the referee's decision during the Yanga-Mamelodi Sundowns match, suggesting that Yanga should have been the ones to eliminate Mamelodi Sundowns.

He believes that Mamelodi Sundowns' exit from the tournament was deserved.

Fatma Issa, another Yanga fan, echoed similar sentiments, stating that Mamelodi Sundowns faced the consequences of unfairness, implying that their elimination was justified.

Renowned coach Jamhuri "Julio" Kihwelu commented on Mamelodi Sundowns' poor performance against Esperance, asserting that Yanga would have been formidable opponents for Esperance in the final.

He praised Yanga's current form and expressed confidence in their ability to compete at the highest level.

Coach Abel Mtweve also weighed in, emphasizing Yanga's significant progress and lamenting their controversial elimination from the tournament.

He commended Yanga's committed players and expressed disappointment at the loss of dignity suffered by the country due to the controversial outcome.
