Yanga meet Geita Gold FC in Azam Federation Cup

Dar es Salaam. Mainland football giants Young Africans (Yanga) today return to the domestic assignment against Geita Gold FC at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam after playing a tough game in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Yanga-Geita Gold encounter of the Azam Federation Cup has been scheduled to kickoff at 8pm and the winners will meet Singida Big Stars, who have already qualified for the semifinal stage after eliminating Mbeya City.
The match is very crucial for both teams due to the fact that the winners of the competition will represent the country in the next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
The two teams are going to meet for the third time in the tournament as in their previous two matches, Yanga managed to win both.
Yanga will likely target to continue with their winning streak in the competition while Geita Gold FC will be seeking to record victory that will send the defending champions packing.
Yanga assistant head coach Cedric Kaze said they are targeting victory over Geita Gold in order to continue with their mission of retaining the title.
“We need to be well-focused on the match as each side are going to be out and out for victory. We want to maintain our winning streak against the team as well as in the competition,” said Kaze.
Yanga are expected to field most of their top players such as Kennedy Musonda, Jesus Moloko, Stephane Aziz Ki, Mudathir Yahya, Bakari Mwamnyeto, Yannick Bangala, Dickson Job and many others. The team’s striker Fiston Mayele will not be part of the team because he is on a short leave.
For his part, Geita Gold FC head coach Fred Felix Minziro said they are taking the encounter seriously with the target of emerging victorious. He said his players are in good shape to face the defending champions.
“Yes, it is going to be a tough match for which my players have received intensive training to win. They are able, willing and ready to make us happy,” insisted Minziro.
