Dar es Salaam. Tanzania Mainland Champions, Young Africans (Yanga), have continued to strengthen their squad ahead of the next league season by introducing Kenyan international midfielder Duke Ooga Abuya ,23.

Abuya has joined Yanga from Singida Black Stars, becoming their sixth new player for the upcoming season.

Abuya is highly regarded for his performances in the previous league season, establishing himself as one of the best midfielders.

His addition to Yanga's squad is expected to bring a significant boost to the team's midfield strength.

The former player of Mathare United, Kariobangi Sharks, Nkana, and Kenya Police FC has already joined the team's training sessions under head coach Miguel Gamondi.

Gamondi aims to advance further in the CAF Champions League next season, having reached the quarterfinals last year.

Other new Yanga players include goalkeeper Aboubakar Khomeini, who also comes from Singida Black Stars and was formerly with Ihefu SC, and left-back Chadrack Issaka Boka (24) from St Eloi Lupopo in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

In addition, Yanga have signed midfielders Aziz Andambwile Mwambalaswa (24) from Singida Big Stars and Zambian Clatous Chota Chama from Simba, as well as Zimbabwean striker Prince Dube Mpumelelo from Azam FC.

Abuya's talent was showcased on the international stage last month when he scored a crucial goal for Harambee Stars against Burundi in a World Cup qualification match played in Malawi.

His impressive performance and international experience make him a valuable asset for Yanga as they prepare for both domestic and continental competitions.

Abuya follows in the footsteps of other Kenyan players who have joined Yanga, such as Farouk Shikalo, who moved to the club after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

With the addition of Abuya and the other new signings, Yanga are poised to build a formidable team capable of competing at the highest levels.

The new signings indicate Yanga's commitment to improving their squad depth and overall quality.

As they gear up for the new season, the club's management and fans have high hopes for a successful campaign both in the league and in the CAF Champions League.

The integration of the new players into the team is crucial for Yanga's ambition to dominate Tanzanian football and make a mark on the continental stage
