President Samia Suluhu Hassan who was on a four-day visit to India, took the audience on a heartfelt journey through her life, sharing her remarkable story from a humble upbringing in an African village to becoming the first woman president of Tanzania. President Samia Suluhu Hassan is the first woman to be awarded the Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy (Doctorate Honoris Causa) by Jawaharlal Nehru University. Apart from President Samia, other leaders who have already been awarded the Honorary Degree by the Jawaharlal Nehru University include Russian President Vladmir Putin and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
