Simba SC appoints Regis as new club CEO

Dar Es Salaam. Simba Sports Club has on Friday, July 26, announced Uwayezu Francois Regis from Rwanda as the new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Imani Kajula, who resigned a few months ago.
A statement released by Simba's board of directors, chaired by Mohammed Dewji, confirmed that Regis will begin his duties on August 1, 2024
"As we bid farewell to our former CEO Imani Kajula, who resigned a few months ago,
I am pleased to inform the public that the board of directors of Simba Sports Club has appointed Uwayezu Francois Regis as our new CEO starting August 1, 2024," the statement said.
"I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Imani Kajula, on my behalf and on behalf of the Board.
Imani's valuable contributions to Simba have made a positive impact, setting a foundation for continued growth and success," the Simba statement continued.
Regis brings over 10 years of experience in sports management, particularly in football.
He has served as the CEO of the Rwanda Football Association for over three years, been the vice-chairman of APR Club, and also worked as the chief match coordinator for the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
He is a founding member of the Rwanda Football Coaches Association, where he has served as vice-president. Regis also holds a UEFA B coaching license, obtained in Germany.
In addition to his football credentials, Regis has a Master’s degree in business administration and an international certificate in public financial management (IPSAS).
He has previously worked as an internal auditor in Rwanda, as well as a director of administration and finance, and a director of operations for various institutions within the country.
