'Visit Saudi' the main sponsor of African Football League

Dar es Salaam. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled 'Visit Saudi' as the main sponsor of the Inaugural African Football League (AFL), which will kick off from October 20 to November 11, 2023.


The AFL is a new club competition that will feature the eight highest-ranked and most successful football clubs on the African continent. 


The eight clubs that will compete in the inaugural season are Al Ahly SC (Egypt), Enyimba FC (Nigeria), Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns FC (South Africa), Atlético Petróleos de Luanda (Angola), Simba SC (Tanzania), TP Mazembe (DR Congo), and Wydad AC (Morocco).


The partnership between CAF and Visit Saudi represents a significant milestone for African football and Saudi tourism. It is also a reflection of the growing popularity of football in both regions.

As part of the partnership, Visit Saudi will receive a range of benefits, including branding and exposure at all AFL matches, as well as access to the AFL's global audience. Visit Saudi will also work with CAF to promote the AFL to potential sponsors and partners.


The partnership is also expected to have a positive impact on the development of African football. A portion of the revenue generated from the AFL will be used to build youth academies and football infrastructure in the 54 countries that are represented by CAF's Member Associations.

The competition has the potential to raise the standards of African club football and to make it more competitive on the global stage.All the participating teams have been given preparation kitties worth millions of dollars.
