NBC Bank’s acting managing director, Elvis Ndunguru, presented the award to Yanga’s Aziz Ki during the “Kariakoo derby” at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, which Yanga won 2-1. Meanwhile, NBC Bank, the main sponsor of the NBC Premier League, provided an unforgettable experience for its customers during the highly-anticipated Kariakoo Derby between Young Africans SC (Yanga) and Simba SC over the weekend. The bank organized a special outing for its customers, allowing them to watch the thrilling match at Dar es Salaam’s renowned Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Recognizing that many avid football fans were unable to attend the derby, the bank ensured they didn’t miss out on the excitement by setting up special viewing points across different regions in Tanzania, including Arusha, Mwanza, Dodoma, Geita, Mtwara, Kigoma, Meru, Mbinga, and Dar es Salaam.

In Dar es Salaam, Samaki Samaki restaurants at Mlimani City and Masaki, as well as Wavuvi Kempu and Hoppipola restaurants in Masaki, were selected as designated venues for fans to unite and enjoy the match together.

The fans had the opportunity to attend an exclusive lunch with NBC Bank’s Director of Retail Banking, Elibariki Masuke, and Acting MD, Elvis Ndunguru, at Kilimanjaro Hyatt Hotel. “Our tradition is to celebrate and enjoy such special moments with our customers at all NBC Premier League matches.

Recognizing the importance of this match, we provide our customers with lunch, fostering the chance for them to connect, exchange ideas, and remind them of the various services we offer. Then, we embark on a special convoy to the stadium, uniting for a collective experience,” explained Ndunguru.

Ndunguru highlighted the range of dedicated services available, including affordable transportation loans for participating teams, healthcare insurance provisions for players and coaching staff, as well as various loans tailored to individual eligibility and terms and conditions.

In collaboration with Yanga, the bank launched international membership cards dubbed NBC Yanga Membership Card. The move aims to facilitate membership payments for the club’s members and thus increase the club’s revenue.

In addition to the thrilling derby and exclusive experiences, the bank also extended its financial services to customers during the event. Bank officials were present to assist with opening accounts, conducting financial transactions, and addressing inquiries, particularly in areas around the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. “Our support for NBC Premier League not only elevates the level of enthusiasm among football fans but also strengthens the growth of the sport at various levels. By celebrating and sharing in the passion of the Kariakoo Derby, NBC Bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to the community and its desire to make a lasting impact in the lives of our customers,” said Masuke.
