Dar es Salaam. A famous swim club in Dar es Salaam, Bluefins, will compete in the Mwanza Isamilo Championships scheduled to start Friday, March 8, 2024 to Saturday, March 9, 2024 in Mwanza region.

Organized by Mwanza Swim Club, Bluefins will field 22 swimmers for the championships set to take place at the Isamilo International School’s swimming pool.

The club's founder and head trainer, Rahim Alidina, said among the participants, nine are female, including two masters, and 13 are male swimmers.

Alidina said the swimmers have undergone intensive training for several weeks and expressed confidence that they will perform well at the event that will feature swimmers from various clubs across the country.

"We have selected 22 swimmers for this gala, out of whom 9 are female, including two masters, and 13 will male swimmers.

“We have a good number of young swimmers traveling to Mwanza for the gala this time as they need to gain valuable experience in competitive swimming outside Dar es Salaam, where they are accustomed to swimming.

“Swimming in a new and different environment helps them learn how to adapt not only in swimming but also in different aspects of their daily lives," said Alidina.

He explained that besides young swimmers, they have also included experienced ones in the team for the championships.

One of the experienced swimmers is Zainab Moosajee, who is also part of the Tanzanian national swimming team squad.

Others, according to Alidina, are Imaan Kimario, Huda Tamim, Zainab, Ithra Kahemele, Inaya Raheel, Zahra Alibhai, and Irhaa Raheel.

Master swimmers in the female category are Zeinab Jivajee and Farhana Karim. Male swimmers in the team are Saalih Mbonde, Mohammad Hussein Imran, Qais Kanji, Shuneal Bharwani, Moiz Kaderbhai and Adam Hassanali.

Other male swimmers are Sahil Jaffer, Ryan Muwanga, Is-Haq Suleiman, Burhanuddin Jivajee, Haadi Meghji, Rayyan Kassam, and Idris Zaver.
