Dar es Salaam.  The Tanzania Amateur Netball Association has called on local clubs to step up preparations ahead of the highly anticipated East Africa Netball Club Championships set for May in Nairobi, Kenya.

Speaking with determination and optimism, Chaneta Chairperson Stella Maclean Mwangomale confirmed that Tanzania will be represented by four strong teams at the regional showpiece.

The selected sides are Tamisemi, Magereza, Jeshi Stars and JKT Mbweni.

Mwangomale said that early and serious preparations will be key if the teams are to compete effectively and raise the national flag high.

“Our teams need to start preparations ahead of the event. They must show their prowess in this competition. The official dates will be announced later, but the time to prepare is now,” she said.

The championships are expected to attract top netball clubs from across the region, including the host nation Kenya, as well as Uganda, Rwanda and Zanzibar.

The tournament provides a crucial platform for exposure, allowing players to measure themselves against some of East Africa’s finest talents while gaining valuable competitive experience.

For Tanzania’s representatives, the event is more than just another tournament.

It is an opportunity to prove their strength on a bigger stage, sharpen tactical discipline and build confidence ahead of future continental assignments. Competition is expected to be fierce.

Kenyan and Ugandan clubs, in particular, have consistently demonstrated dominance at both regional and continental levels, setting high standards that other nations are eager to match.

With pride and reputation on the line, Tanzania’s four teams now face the challenge of turning preparation into performance.

If they rise to the occasion, Nairobi could become the stage where Tanzanian netball once again asserts its growing strength in East Africa.
