Efforts to support Stars at Afcon gain momentum

Dar es Salaam. Football fans in Tanzania have a chance to witness history being made at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) tournament set to go down in Ivory Coast.

The fans will get to see and support Tanzania’s men’s national team, the Taifa Stars, as they battle it out against some of the continent’s best teams.

This opportunity to witness magic on the pitch, dubbed Twende Afcon 2024, has been made possible by online sports betting company Betway.

The tournament will feature 24 teams vying for the coveted Continental Football Cup. Tanzania, having qualified for only the third time after 1980 and 2019 since the establishment of Afcon, will commence its campaign in Group F against Morocco on January 17, followed by matches against Zambia on January 21, and DR Congo on January 24.
