Dar es Salaam. Benjamin Mkapa Stadium was buzzing with energy as Simba SC marked its 89th anniversary today, celebrating the 17th edition of the legendary Simba Day.
From dawn, fans streamed into the stadium, draping the stands in red, blue, and white, proudly sporting the latest jerseys of their beloved club. The atmosphere was electric, charged with anticipation for a day packed with football, music, and fanfare.
Outside the stadium, the festival spirit was equally infectious. Supporters filled the surrounding precincts, socializing under
colorful tents, enjoying live performances, and sampling a variety of food and drinks. Ali Kiba’s hit “Mnyama” had fans dancing, turning the area into one giant, pulsating party that stretched far beyond the gates.
Inside, the entertainment lineup delivered non-stop thrills. Chino Man and the renowned band The African Stars, also known as Twanga Pepeta, captivated the crowd with unforgettable performances.
Mbwana Yusuph Kilungi, popularly known as Mbosso, lit up the stage, backed by dancers, performing hits like Seleman, Aviola, and Pawa, keeping fans on their feet and fully immersed in the celebrations.
DJ Sinyorita amplified the energy with electrifying tracks, blending seamlessly with the roar of the crowd. The football action was just as exhilarating.
Simba’s veteran squad faced off against KT Veterans in a thrilling friendly that ended 2-2, keeping fans on the edge of their seats The circular stands erupted with cheers, while VIP B offered a more relaxed yet engaged audience experience.
