The Championship, organized by the Netball Association of Tanzania (Chaneta), is expected to reach its climax on August 10.
Even though the defending champions Tamisemi, Mbweni JKT, Jeshi Stars, and Uhamiaji are expected to dominate the tournament, Magereza are the team to watch this season owing to their adequate preparations for the event.
Also on the list are Mapinduzi, Bandari, Eagle Queens, Nyika, and Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT).
Chaneta vice chairperson Shyrose Bhanji said they are expecting a thrilling competition because of the preparations undergone by all the teams.
Bhanji explained that all arrangements for the competition are complete and called on netball stakeholders to turn up in large numbers to watch the talents.
“We are expecting a highly competitive tournament this year. Teams have prepared well and all aim to win the silverware,” said Bhanji.
She added that their association is enjoying significant support from the government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
“Mama Samia has been at the forefront of sports development in the country.
On behalf of Chaneta, we commend her for her contributions to sports development and other sectors.
Chaneta is proud and promises to take the game to the next level of development,” said Bhanji.
Bhanji also commended the association’s sponsors for the tournament and the annual general meeting held at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC).
“I thank Serena Hotels for donating Sh2.5 million to the association to stage both the annual general meeting and the competition.
Also, I would like to thank other sponsors including the Tanzania Tourist Board, CRDB Bank, NMB Bank, Bandari, and DTB Bank,” said Bhanji.
Meanwhile, Serena Hotels Country Sales and Marketing Manager David Sem said they decided to support Chaneta based on their mission and vision of promoting sports development in the country.
