NBC League continues today as Aziz Ki tops scoring race

Dar es Salaam. After a thrilling derby between Young Africans (Yanga) and Azam FC in Dar es Salaam on Monday evening, the mainland Tanzania Premier League continues today at three different venues.
Yanga recorded a 3-2 victory over Azam FC in a tough encounter that saw Stephane Aziz Ki score a hat-trick to join other two players with the same number of goals scored in one match in the league.
They are Feisal “Fei Toto” Salum of Azam FC, who scored a hat-trick in the opening match against Kitayosce (Tabora United), and Simba’s Jean Baleke, who did the same against Coastal Union.
As per the Golden Boot Award race, Aziz KI is now at the top with six goals and is followed by Baleke with five.
Players who have scored three goals so far are Maxi Nzengeli, Fei Toto, Pacome Zouzoua, Marouf Tchakei, Matheo Anthony, and Prince Dube.
So far, Yanga are at the top with 15 points from six matches, while Simba are placed in the second position with 15 points.
Yanga have a good average goal difference when compared with Simba. Yanga have 14 goals against Simba’s 10.
Azam FC are placed third with 13 points from six matches. Other teams in the top five are Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC), who have collected 11 points and are placed fourth, and Tabora United, who have nine points and are in the fifth position.
Meanwhile, the league continues today with JKT Tanzania facing Tabora United at the Azam Complex at 4pm in Dar es Salaam.
Other games to be played today are Coastal Union vs Mashujaa FC, scheduled to start at 6.30pm at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga, and Dodoma Jiji FC vs Kagera Sugar at the Jamhuri Stadium at 9 pm.
The matches are crucial for all the teams in order to improve their chances in the league standings.
