Newly promoted Mashujaa FC rules out extensive changes

Dar es Salaam. Mashujaa FC head coach Abdul Mingange has said most of the players who enabled the team to be promoted in the next season of the NBC Premier League will be retained.
Mingange said that following the tendency of some football leaders who normally drop players who fought hard to promote the team into the top flight and later drop them and recruit new players.
He said that as the team’s head coach, he will add a few players ahead of the next Mainland Premier League season due to the fact that his team have talented players.
“I will recruit a few players ahead of the next season. We have just secured the chance to feature in the league, and I have my proposal that I have already submitted to the leaders who will work on it. I will never overall players and register the new one,” said Mingange.
He said that they are expecting to get strong opposition from premiership clubs, but they will prepare the team to perform wonders. “There is a big difference between the Championship Division and the Premiership. I have experience on the matter, so I will prepare my team accordingly,” he said.
The team’s promotion to the Premier League make Kigoma football fans to start witnessing the NBC Premier League next season after waiting for 19 years.
Mashujaa FC qualified to feature in the playoffs after finishing fourth in the Championship Division with 49 points from 28 matches.
JKT Tanzania emerged in the top position after collecting 63 points from 28 matches, while Kitayosce placed in second place with 60 points and Pamba in third place with 59 points, respectively.
Records show that the last time Kigoma’s team competed in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League was in 2004 through the Reli Kigoma side, which did not finish the league and was relegated on July 5 of the same year after violating league regulations.
Before that, Kigoma Region had an RTC alias, RTC Kigoma, who participated in the league in 1987 and finished in fourth place. Young Africans (Yanga) won the title on goal average regulations against Pamba FC of Mwanza.
Both teams collected 23 points, but Yanga were declared the league champions after scoring 20 goals while conceding 10, and Pamba scored 16 goals while conceding nine.
Another team that participated in the league in 1988 was RTC Kigoma, which finished in fourth place, while Coastal Union of Tanga emerged as the winner of the league.
RTC Kigoma also participated in the 1989 and 1990 seasons before being relegated in 1991.
In 2002, Mmbanga FC was promoted to the Mainland Tanzania Premier League and were relegated the following season, in 2003. Mmbanga FC also participated in the FA Cup that year.
Reli Kigoma were the last team to feature in the Mainland Tanzania Premier League in 2004. They did not record impressive results and were later relegated at the end of the season.

Mashujaa FC have completed the NBC Premier League lineup for the next season.
The team join Kitayosce, JKT Tanzania who promoted from Championship Division.
Others teams in the league are Young Africans (Yanga) who are winners, Simba, Azam FC, Singida Big Stars, Namungo, Ihefu, Geita Gold, Tanzania Prisons, Dodoma Jiji FC, Mtibwa Sugar, Kagera Sugar, Coastal Union and KMC.
