Dar es Salaam. The famous gaming body in the country, SportPesa Tanzania has expressed its pride for marking its first year anniversary in the country with massive football developments.

Besides sponsoring Tanzanian soccer giants Young African and Simba, the Kenya-headquartered company, which started in 2014, also extended its sponsorship to newly promoted Singida United.
The teams also featured in the SportPesa Super Cup together with Kenya’s Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Tusker and Nakuru All Stars as well as Zanzibar’s Jang’ombe Boys in a mini-tournament aimed the picking a team that would play against Everton FC from England. Gor Mahia won the title and played against the English Premiership team.
The firm also donated Sh50 million to the national U-17 soccer team, Serengeti Boys, enabling it to feature in the African Youth finals held in Gabon, last year. The firm also spent not less than Sh1.4 billion on renovating the National Stadium.
During the Everton Tour, hundreds of soccer fans in the country got the opportunity to review ex-England captain Wayne Rooney play in the country for the first time. Also, team legend Leon Osman visited the famous Ngorongoro Crater to boost the country’s tourism.
