Dar es Salaam. A daunting task awaits JKT Tanzania when they face high-flying Simba today at the Major General Isamuhyo ground in Dar es Salaam in the Mainland Tanzania Premier League.

The match, which kicks off at 4pm, is billed as thrilling, whereby today’s fixture also shows that Tanzania Prisons will be hosting Singida Fountain Gate FC at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya and at 8.15pm Coastal Union will be facing Dodoma Jiji FC at the CCM Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga.

However, the attention of many football fans is expected to draw at at the Major General Isamuhyo ground, where Simba will likely battle to win and remain in the touching distance of the league leaders, Young Africans (Yanga).

Yanga are not in action today. JKT, on the other hand, are placed 12th after garnering 16 points from 14 matches.

And if the words of Simba head coach Abdelhak Benchikha are anything to go by, the army outfit should expect the worst today.

“Our objective this season is to perform impressively in the Mainland Premier League and other tournaments, my players are in top form and ready to do their best in the game,” said Benchikha.

For his part, JKT Tanzania assistant coach George Nketo said they are well-prepared for today’s match.

“My players have trained well and promised to do their best in the match. We respect Simba who managed to record victory in their last match. All the mistakes we made in our last match have rectified and we are sure of coming out with a positive result at our home ground,” said Nketo.
