Simba, Azam FC face tough challenges in league games

Dar es Salaam. Football giants, Simba SC, today face the acid test of Kagera Sugar at the Kaitaba Stadium in Kagera as the Mainland NBC Premier League continues at three different venues.
Before the match to kick-off at 7pm, Tanzania Prisons will be hosting Dodoma Jiji FC at the Sokoine Stadium and at 4pm Geita Gold FC will be meeting Azam FC at the Nyankumbu ground in Geita.
The matches are expected to be tough as each team will be targeting victory in order to improve their positions in the league standings.
Simba will likely target to reduce the point gap against the title holders Young Africans (Yanga), who lead the league standings after garnering 41 points (before Yanga’s results against Coastal Union yesterday night). Simba have collected 37 points.
Simba head coach Juma Mgunda said they are facing an uphill task against Kagera Sugar, who are placed sixth in the league standing.
“Our task is to record good results. We are aware that we are going to play one of the experienced teams in the competition as we need to do our best,” said Mgunda. He said most of his players are in top form to show their commitment in the encounter.
Kagera Sugar head coach Mecky Mexime said they are aware that the encounter is going to be very tough, but added that his players are in high morale to face the challenge.
He said they respect Simba in the encounter, but expressed that they feel sorry for them as they target victory. He explained that Simba players are in top form and will be targeting to show their commitment in the encounter.
“We have been prepared well ahead of the match and we expect to record a good result. I predict a tough game as each team will be target victory,” said Mexime.
In the Geita encounter, Geita Gold FC will likely be targeting to return to their winning streak after suffering a 5-0 defeat to Simba on Saturday at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.
Azam FC will likely be targeting an impressive result after their encounter against Kagera Sugar ended in a 2-2 draw at the Kaitaba Stadium in Kagera.
