Football coaches in the country have criticized the decision taken by Simba Sports club leadership to terminate the contract with Briton technician, Dylan Kerr as the team was performing better.

Dar es Salaam. Football coaches in the country have criticized the decision taken by Simba Sports club leadership to terminate the contract with Briton technician, Dylan Kerr as the team was performing better.

Speaking in different interview yesterday, some coaches has said the move will make the club continue to fail performing better in the league due to the fact that every coach has different philosophy in coaching.

Former Tanzania Prisons head coach, Joseph Kanakamfumu said that he is not happy with the decision taken by Simba SC leaders due to the fact that Simba SC was doing better in the league after clinching third position with 27 points from 13 matches.

Kanakamfumu said that grounds used to terminate Kerr after failing to defend the Mapinduzi Cup does not work due to the fact that the tournament was scheduled was very tight and players have to play four matches in six days.

“It is true that Simba SC has failed to perform well in Mapinduzi Cup, but to Kerr was the challenges as he has managed to see the standard of all players in the team, he is only coach who manage to change the players in every match, I commend him although some club leaders are results oriented,” said Kanakamfumu.

He said that most of the players were not rest in since last year due to the fact that they were members of the national teams.

“They featured in both World Cup qualifiers and later in the senior Challenge Cup, they did not rest and join their clubs for league before travelling to Zanzibar for Mapinduzi Cup, players are not machine, they are human being and have to rest for repairing their body, even machine are resting,” he said.

Young Africans head coach, Hans Van Pluijm was also not happy with the move due to the fact that Simba SC results were improving. He said with Kerr, the club has managed to go third and manage to minimize gap with them and top team in the league, Azam FC.

“I am not happy with the decision, how can you change technical bench before the end of season, may there other reasons and not results, but the situation is very tense to any coach who seek a job in the club,” said Pluijm.

Mwadui FC head coach, Jamhuri Kihwelu said he is not surprise with the Simba SC leaders decision as they did the same when they teaching the club.

“I was assistant coach with Abdallah Kibadeni in the team, the club leaders terminated our contract as the team was third in standing, how can you terminate Kerr as the team in third position, this is curse ,”

“Simba SC leaders have to change, they need to honor coaching as professional, there are some officials in the club are chronic in interfering technical bench, I usually name them and some people think that I am hating them, no coach will survive in the team if the two officials exist and for this, they will never do well,” said Kihwelu.
